Being a wedding photographer I get the opportunity to travel to different states and photograph beautiful couples! Talk about living the dream. Ok, its hard work, but the work is just so enjoyable when you love what you do. Every year I happen to book something in NYC and every single time its a different adventure. Part of the adventure I believe is the place that we stay at. This particular trip we happened to land a new hotel that had just been built. The previous year, I remember walking down at the Brooklyn Bridge Park and seeing the construction of this hotel, so definitely was excited to have the opportunity to actually be staying at the 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge.

Absolutely loved the vibe of this hotel. From the greenery to the natural wood to the spa like music playing, it was definitely an experience. And as all y'all know, I very much into experience and how it makes one feel.

Because the hotel was fairly new, there was a lot of little mishaps and miscommunication with the staff, so we had to wait a bit in the lobby. However, because we knew it was a new location and they where still training new staff, we didn't mind one bit. The lobby & Lounge area was so chill and relaxing, they even had a small bar area for refreshments.

So this is a little peek into our room. My husband didn't want to leave. pretty sure he would have stayed here all day if we didn't have to go do a photoshoot ;). We did a day after wedding session with a couple on Brooklyn Bridge, and even a few shots on top of the rooftop of this hotel!)

Needless to say, after a long day of exploring & shooting, its really nice to come back to such a relaxed place! And the I believe the way the room is set up definitely plays a roll in providing that type of aumbiance.

I wanted to take this bathroom home with me.

This is the view from our room. Enough said.

The location of this hotel is probably the best feature. You step out of the hotel right into the walkway of the Brooklyn Bridge Park. Its serene and absolutely breathtaking to see the Manhattan skyline and only a few steps away.

Attaining food fast is a must when traveling for work. The Neighbors Cafe thats part of the hotel had some delicious fresh food choices. We happened to stop by there way too often, and each time I tried to get something different. From fresh smoothies, salads, cookies and ice cream (clearly I am not the most healthy choices haha) I enjoyed every single thing I got.

I also love to order room service at least once when I am on a trip, you know, so I don't have to get out of bed!

This is a little bit of how I recover from being on my feet too long. ;).

Maybe I have lived under a rock, or maybe its a new thing, or just a feature of this particular hotel, but they provided a complimentary ride, on a Tesla!

We definitely took advantage of this perk provided by the 1 Hotel. It took us to many places, even to our shoot location. I really enjoyed this luxury perk, maybe more than my husband as he gets to work with and drive Teslas for the most part of the year! Lucky him ;).

We are such tourists.

Well, all I can say is we are definitely coming back here again!

The 1 Hotel Location is just so perfect, and I simply love a good view, food & service when staying at a hotel!

NYC ill see you again soon ;),

Here is the blog for the shoot that we did while we were here! Check out the views from 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge Terrace!

Whats your favorite part about a hotel when traveling?

Would you stay at 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge

Would love to hear from you, comment below!

They say work hard and play harder ;). I think this is what my intention was for this particular work trip. I have never been to Miami, I know, shocker considering I have lived in FL for almost six years. So when several shoots happened to line up all at once I decided it was time to finally make my way down south. When researching for hotels to stay at I wanted to experience the best of Miami but not in the lets party sort of way - but more of lets chill in a relaxing resort type of way. I read the reviews like crazy of the locations and the hotels and specifically wanted to stay more north and not south beach, or as I have been told by many to do so. There was many hotels on my radar when scouting, but I kept coming back to The Palms Hotel Resort . I chose it with assurance and hesitation at the same time. I mean try researching for hotels in miami - its overwhelming!

Me and Kristina ( My Assistant and awesome friend who so generously agreed on this little adventure with me ), checked in without a hitch, even got upgraded to an ocean front room which was amazing, and would definitely recommend it! Wish I took a photo from our room - Clearly we didn't stay in it much as we spent most of our time at beach or the resort style pool lounging and drinking smoothies- and eating burgers...we where on vacation, ok! I mean WORK-ATION ;). Their beachside and poolside service was exactly what we needed.

I am a big breakfast person. if anything, the onsite Essensia Restaurant was definitely one of my favorite parts from the whole trip! The buffet breakfast was seriously one of the best I have ever been to! Also the fact that the food is all naturally sourced made eating their that much more enjoyable. One of the days of our trip we decided to stray from the restaurant and go eat breakfast at one of the cuban joins down the street, oh boy what a mistake! after horrible experience and disgusting breakfast food from the cuban joint we still ended up back at the Essensia Restaurant for their delicious breakfast. Lesson learned!

Heres a shot of my third round of the breakfast buffet. Yes, I ate it all! and even had more. blame it on being six months pregnant...and on the fact that the food was so good!

The Resort Is surreal- every corner of it feels like your on a tropical Island somewhere not smack in the middle of Miami Beach. Just as it is advertised: A Tropical Sanctuary in the heart of Miami Beach

A little small detail: They had pitchers of fruit water all around the hotel, pool area, and even the beach! This doesn't seam like a big deal, but I like to stay hydrated and refilled my water bottle often. So I guess you can say every little detail matters!

My Gorgeous couple, Izabella & Charles joined us shortly after and we had fun capturing a little bit of a lifestyle type shoot around the hotel! I think these photos will give even a better look at how COOL the resort is.

Hope you enjoyed this little review of this amazing hotel. Let me know if you have ever stayed here and leave a comment of your favorite thing about your experience here.

or plan to stay here in the future, feel free to ask any questions!

So here it is as promised, my condo decor and how I went crazy nesting (a pregnancy thing) and decided to finally decorate our home. It has always been something I put off for a while because I saw it as not our permanent home and it was not a house.

As anyone, I am sure, I dreamed of living in a house and decorating my little interior designer heart out. Unfortunately, a house just always seamed somewhere in the distant future, with everything that kept going on in our lives, from job losses, to being denied from a mortgage loan, to starting new businesses, to traveling and I can go on and on.

Frankly, I can make excuses all day long, but it doesn't even make since, I think it finally hit me sometime towards the end of my second pregnancy that even tho we have been married for 6 years and going on two kids, we are blessed to have a place to even call a home!

I think i just snapped out of it and stopped dreaming so hard about a house and where we wanted to be in the future, and started to enjoy living right now,  In the moments, in the weeks and in the months. Sure we will have a house in the future oh no doubt about that, but for now, we are so thankful and really enjoying our little 3 bedroom condo and so I indeed decorated my little heart out but  keeping things simple but still with my style. I really enjoyed it and keep wanting to change things all the time, which is easy to do once you have the main things done.

I encourage you to do the same, doesn't matter what style you go with, just that you make where ever you live now feel like your -home!

The Simple entry. I did not want to spend a fortune on furniture items that I knew where not going to transition into our future house,  so something simple for the entry would do, while still utilizing the space and storage -Cue the Basket and Storage Bench.

The Mirror was a thrift find for $50. It was ugly brown, I spray painted it semi gloss black. When you have a mirror by the entry, it makes the space look much bigger than it is.

By adding a simple potted plant, can make a space look more alive! especially if you love the whole monochromatic look, a dash of natural green makes it more pleasing to the eye.

This Original Drexel Mahogany Sideboard was another thrift find, that I myself still cant believe I scored! An elderly couple who was moving out of their Mansion was selling this on craigslit because they could not take it with them. Guess how much?!  A whole whooping $150 for this beauty! I always admire it and am pretty happy how much character it adds to the simple designed living room. They come in this ugly brown color, and can be professionaly painted to an off white like this.

The porch swing was one of the best things I invested in, that I know will easily transition into a house. I love our peaceful days where we sit outside on the swing enjoying the florida breeze.

Also, all the plants that I am trying to keep alive. hope they will survive to transition into our future house, haha.

Our Coach is from Rooms To Go, and the only thing that we had when we moved into this condo. We bought it because it was supposed to be for a house..but in this condo its just  too big, but we made do. I dream of grey tufted couch, but with my style being parisian classic with glam, and my husbands modern, we had to surely compromise. Also, I am very happy we have a black couch! I cant imagine what it would look like if it was any other color. kids...we have kids.

Pick up some magazines at your local Restoration Hardware Store, they are free. Your Welcome.

I Hope you enjoyed this little post about decorating and making a home no matter where you live.  Have you decorated the space you are in now? or do you plan to? Let me know by leaving a comment below!

P.S. I have another blog post of the bedroom and the office, coming soon ;).

While traveling up in New York back in Spring I got the opportunity to capture this beautiful mama blogger with her daughter Esmae and sister Diana. Going for that "house on the prairie" vibe, this session was nothing short of dreamy! I mean it included a white horse! enough said ;). Loved all the precious moments, we had such an adventure getting through the muddy field, all so worth it. Enjoy just a few of my favorite captures!
